Senior PML-Q leader Ajmal Wazir called on Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at his residence in the Model Town on May 26. Matters relating to prevailing political situation and the Model Town tragedy came under discussion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that nothing can beat the oppression committed in Model Town on June 17, 2014. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) held a demonstration in front of the anti-terrorism court to seek justice for Model Town martyrs. Senior leaders and workers including women attended the demonstration in large number. Addressing the participants of the demonstration, Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja said that we would fight the legal battle and take to the streets as well for justice in Model Town case. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his belief that accountability would certainly be conducted, punishment meted out and the rulers would not be able to escape justice this time round. He said that after Panama, Chotu leaks would also come to the fore that has had the patronage of the rulers. In a TV interview yesterday, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the inquiry of the Panama leaks cannot be carried out under the Commissions of Inquiry Act and for the inquiry to be possible, the government and opposition should jointly formulate ToRs followed by issuance of Ordinance for establishment of sovereign Judicial Commission which should have the services of the international forensic agency. read more...

PAT Larkana holds rally to protest corruption

PAT Larkana chapter held a rally to protest the corruption of rulers. A large number of people and the PAT workers attended the rally, which started from Bandar road and concluded in front of the Larkana press club. The rally was part of demonstrations being arranged by PAT across the country to highlight the issue of corruption and money laundering. District President of PAT led the rally. The protesters were carrying placards and banners with anti-corruption slogans written in them. They demanded of the PM to resign and offer himself for accountability. read more...

PAT (Quetta chapter) organized a demonstration in front of the Quetta Press Club on May 2 to protest the mega corruption of rulers and offshore companies and non-provision of justice in the Model Town case. The protest was jointly led by Bakhtiar Ahmad Rind, president of Quetta Division, and Ashraf Shah Qadri, provincial chief organizer Balochistan. In addition to the PAT workers, a large number of people and members of the civil society attended the demonstration. PAT Secretary General calls on Syed Khursheed Shah

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur called on Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah at his residence yesterday and discussed with him current political situation and the Model Town tragedy. He told the PPP leader that the report of the Model Town commission has not been released despite passage of one and half years and that the PAT has knocked on the doors of the Lahore High Court to get a copy of the report, adding that on the other hand, we have filed a complaint in the anti-terrorism court. PAT holds seminar on International Labour Day

PAT organized a seminar to mark International Labour Day on May 1st at the central secretariat, which was presided over by senior PAT leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. In his presidential address, Dr Hassan said that the rulers who have set up offshore companies are enemies of the workers, farmers and labourers. He said that if the people did not rise for their rights, the predatory ruling elite will gobble up whatever is left. He said that the labourers of Chicago rendered sacrifices against the state barbarism and the PAT workers also stood up against the state oppression and highhandedness. read more...
