PAT Karachi took out a rally to protest the corruption, money laundering and tax evasion of the ruling family and non-provision of justice in case of the Model Town tragedy in the wake of the Panama leaks on April 8. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has welcomed the Army Chief’s statement in which he stated that across the board accountability is necessary to break the nexus of the corruption and power. He said that time has come that the targeted operation is carried out against abettors and facilitators of the terrorists. He said that life of people remains at the mercy of the terrorists and their property at the mercy of looters and plunderers. He said that the Operation Zarb-e-Ghazab against the corrupt elements has become inevitable like the Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists. He said that corruption and money laundering are economic terrorism. He said that the Panama leaks are no joke and their authenticity is accepted at the international level. Addressing a heavily crowded press conference, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Sharif family is the owner of hundreds of offshore companies. He said that in order to make them cough out money and speak the truth, they should be deposed and put behind the bars. He said that the facts revealed so far by the Panama leaks are sufficient to punish them. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Panama leaks are not a conspiracy against anyone. He said that Allah Almighty has unmasked the faces of the looters. He asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of the leakage and initiate the impeachment process forcibly. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) held a demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly building to register its protest in the aftermath of the Panama scandal. The participants of the demonstration demanded of the Prime Minister to tender his resignation and establishment of the judicial commission under the Chief Justice of Pakistan. In his special message on 23rd of March being celebrated today across the country, PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that corruption and terrorism have defaced Pakistan of the Quaid-e-Azam. He said that the labourers, workers, farmers, clerks, peasants and downtrodden sections of society for whom Pakistan came into being have been compelled to resort to protests and suicides due to rampant poverty and starvation.
