Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Army Chief promised to provide justice in the Model Town case. He said that we are reminding him as to when he would fulfill his promise. He said that we are not begging the COAS for justice but only reminding him of his commitment. He said that elimination of terrorism is his responsibility. He said that we want Qisas under the law of the land, Constitution of Pakistan and the Islamic law and anything less than that is not acceptable. Tomorrow’s (Saturday) rallies and sit-in in Rawalpindi will prove to be a referendum against the corrupt rulers and will bring justice to the families of the martyrs of the Model Town incident. This was stated by Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, here on Friday while speaking in the Central Core Committee meeting and later talking to Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid on phone. An emergency meeting of PAT central Core Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at the central secretariat. The meeting decided the schedule of protests to be held from August 20 to August 30 as part of Movement for Qisas & Integrity of Country. According to the schedule, protests will be held in 77 cities on August 20 including Lahore, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Larkana, Faisalabad, Sibbi, Kohat, Dera Murad Jamali, Mansehra, Sakhar, Dera Ismail Khan, and Rahim Yar Khan. read more...
Addressing a hurriedly called press conference, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the government is going to bulldoze 100-year old Criminal Procedure Act 1898 from Section 200 to Section 2004 to ward off justice and Qisas in the Model Town case. Addressing the Azadi Convention in the PAT central secretariat, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Prime Minister made an attempt to establish a contact on August 13 through some source to stop the movement. He said that he made it clear to all those establishing backdoor contacts that there would be no talk less than Qisas. He said that the political elite of the country did not learn any lesson from its dismemberment in 1971, so much so that the residence of the founder of Pakistan did not remain safe.
