Flight carrying Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairperson Tahir-ul-Qadri landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport early Wednesday morning. He has now reached his house in Model Town, Lahore however. Supporters gathered in large numbers to give Qadri a warm welcome upon his arrival at the airport. Addressing his followers, Qadri said he plans to hold a sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly on June 17 to demand justice for those who lost their loved ones in the Lahore Model Town tragedy. read more...

Talking to media at the Heathrow before his departure for Pakistan, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that our protest and sit in is for the sake of justice for the oppressed and martyrs of Model Town. He said that the Islamabad sit-in laid the foundation of revolution, adding that edifice will be completed soon. Addressing a press conference through a video link from Canada, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has announced the schedule of his return. He said that he would reach Lahore on the morning of June 15 and lead the sit-in on The Mall on June 17 to demand justice for martyrs of Model Town tragedy. He said that he is guarantor of peaceful protest and peaceful sit-in, adding that the government should refrain from its highhanded tactics. Addressing the Workers Convention held under the banner of MQI and PAT Lahore chapters at the central secretariat, Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that the sit-in is being arranged on June 17 to demand justice for martyrs of Model Town. A delegation of PAT led by senior leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri called on former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani at his residence in Lahore and congratulated him on behalf of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the party on the safe return of his abducted son. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja, Noorullah Saddiqi, Fayyaz Warraich, Raja Zahid, and Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam were other members of the delegation. Pakistan Awami Tehreek has decided to stage a sit-in on June 17 at the Mall Road Lahore. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will lead the sit-in. Announcement to this effect was made by PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur while addressing a press conference at the central secretariat here in Lahore on May 26 along with other members of the Core Committee.
