PAT Secretary General calls on Syed Khursheed Shah

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur called on Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah at his residence yesterday and discussed with him current political situation and the Model Town tragedy. He told the PPP leader that the report of the Model Town commission has not been released despite passage of one and half years and that the PAT has knocked on the doors of the Lahore High Court to get a copy of the report, adding that on the other hand, we have filed a complaint in the anti-terrorism court. PAT holds seminar on International Labour Day

PAT organized a seminar to mark International Labour Day on May 1st at the central secretariat, which was presided over by senior PAT leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. In his presidential address, Dr Hassan said that the rulers who have set up offshore companies are enemies of the workers, farmers and labourers. He said that if the people did not rise for their rights, the predatory ruling elite will gobble up whatever is left. In his reaction to the Prime Minister’s address to the nation, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that revelations made by the Panama papers are proven and there is no need for further investigation. He said that the Commission will not produce any result, adding that the whole nation has been rendered clueless once again. He said that the Prime Minister did not address the nation but cracked joke with it. The PAT workers held a peaceful demonstration before the anti-terrorism court demanding justice in the Model Town case. They chanted ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans. The demonstration led by Hafiz Ghulam Farid was attended by a large number of women. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has welcomed the Army Chief’s statement in which he stated that across the board accountability is necessary to break the nexus of the corruption and power. He said that time has come that the targeted operation is carried out against abettors and facilitators of the terrorists. He said that life of people remains at the mercy of the terrorists and their property at the mercy of looters and plunderers. He said that the Operation Zarb-e-Ghazab against the corrupt elements has become inevitable like the Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists. Addressing a heavily crowded press conference, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Sharif family is the owner of hundreds of offshore companies. He said that in order to make them cough out money and speak the truth, they should be deposed and put behind the bars. He said that the facts revealed so far by the Panama leaks are sufficient to punish them.
