PAT delegation led by Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri calls on Yousaf Raza Gillani
A delegation of PAT led by senior leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri called on former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani at his residence in Lahore and congratulated him on behalf of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the party on the safe return of his abducted son. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja, Noorullah Saddiqi, Fayyaz Warraich, Raja Zahid, and Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam were other members of the delegation.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and his son Ali Haider Gillani thanked the PAT leaders for coming to visit them. Matters relating to Panama leaks and the current political situation of the country came under discussion during the meeting. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri invited the former Prime Minister to attend the Martyr’s Day ceremony on June 17.
Speaking on the occasion, Yousaf Raza Gillani said that Model Town tragedy is above politics and those who killed the innocent people should be punished. He said that it is a matter of great concern that despite passage of two years, the perpetrators of Model Town tragedy have not been punished.
Talking to the media later on after the meeting, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the purpose of our visit was to congratulate the former Prime Minister and his family on the safe return of his son. He said that thorough deliberations were held on the Model Town tragedy and the Panama leaks. He said that the names of the Prime Minister’s family have appeared in the leaks which have not been refuted to date. He said that the PAT is of the view that the PM should tender his resignation for transparent investigation of the case. He said that we have sent an invitation letter to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for the Martyr’s day ceremony and Yousaf Raza Gillani has also been extended a formal invitation as well.
Meanwhile, the PAT delegation visited the residence of Ch. Sarwar and condoled with him on the death of his granddaughter.
