PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that Balochistan and KPK provinces are the gateway of progress and peace respectively. He said that we do not want the kind of progress whose fruits do not reach the common man. He said that the people of both provinces are fighting the war for Pakistan’s solidarity. PAT leaders, workers and the family members of the martyrs of Model Town staged a sit-in in front of the Civil Secretariat Lahore over the Home Secretary’s refusal to hand over the Najfi Judicial Commission report following the LHC judgment. They demanded the handing over of the report in line with the clear judgment of the LHC. Women and children were also part of the sit-in. read more...
Addressing an emergency press conference soon after the Lahore High Court’s judgment to make the Baqir Najfi Commission report public, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the Punjab Chief Minister to hand over the report to the families of the martyrs before being apprehended. He said that we would spend all resources for justice, adding that we would die of hunger but would continue to chase the perpetrators of the Model Town tragedy. The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered the Punjab government to make Model Town enquiry report public. The LHC issued these directives, while hearing the petition filed by families of victims killed in Model Town massacre in which 14 people were killed and 100 others were injured during the police action. read more...
PAT and MQI Greece took out a protest rally in front of Burmese consulate on September 7 against the atrocities being committed against the Burmese Muslims. The people from across the political spectrum participated in the protest rally. Throwing light on the current situation in Burma, the speakers said that the Muslims are being subjected to ethnic cleansing under planning and the criminal silence of the international powers is the proof of this fact. Qazi Muhammad Zahid Hussain and Khurram Nawaz Gandapur belonging to Sindh and KP provinces respectively were elected the President and Secretary General of PAT in an intra-party election. Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich and Brig (r) Muhammad Mushtaq were elected to the positions of President of PAT Central, South and North chapters respectively; whereas Rehman Maqbool, Saifullah Saddozai, and Mahmood Ahmad Hasnain were elected General Secretary of PAT Central, South and North chapters. PTI Chairman Imran Khan along with three senior party leaders called on PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri at the central secretariat in Model Town on September 14 and thanked him for announcement of support in NA-120 election. Both leaders spoke to the media after the meeting. On the special instructions of PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Pakistan Awami Tehreek took out protest demonstrations in over 114 big and small cities of the country to express their condemnation of brutalities being committed on the Burmese Muslims and demonstrate their solidarity with them. The public meetings, which were attended by a large number of people belonging to different walks of life, strongly condemned the reign of terror perpetrated by the Burmese army and the people belonging to Buddhism. read more...
Addressing a hurriedly called press conference in connection with the genocide of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has strongly condemned the ethnic cleansing of the Muslims of Myanmar and the worst oppression being committed on them. He said that he has written a letter to the UN Secretary General Mr. Antonio Gutterres to send a peacekeeping mission to Myanmar to stop the genocide of the Muslims. read more...
