PAT demands shifting of Model Town case to military court

An emergency meeting of PAT Working Council was held here in which it demanded that the Model Town case should be transferred to the military court. It said that those sitting in powerful positions of the government are hampering the process of dispensation of justice. It further said that the rule and regulation under which the Uzair Baloch case was shifted to the military court, the same rule should be applied to transfer the Model Town case to the military court. read more...

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that he and his workers were again being forced to seek justice through street power and those policemen who had been convicted were being released. National Conference asks Prime Minister to step down post-Panama leaks

Pakistan Awami Tehreek arranged a national conference on the occasion of the 66th birthday of its Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The participating leaders adopted a resolution on this occasion and demanded that the Prime Minister who failed to provide money trail for his offshore properties in London should immediately separate himself from the public office. Addressing a hurriedly called press conference through a video link from Toronto, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has announced to challenge the anti-terrorism court’s (ATC) verdict in the Lahore High Court. He said that we did not expect that even IGP and DIG will be summoned, adding that IGP has been called on the contention that he was present in his office at 9:55 am on the morning of June 17, 2014. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that our basic demand in the private complaint regarding Model Town tragedy was to summon the Sharif brothers which has not been accepted. He, however, added in the same breath that we would use our legal right for their summoning. He said that sacrifice of scapegoats will not be enough. He said that it is hoped that the police officials will not speak up untimely like Soulat Mirza, adding that they will have to speak every time to get justice.
