LAHORE - Pakistan Awami Tehreek will hold protest rallies in 60 cities on Sunday against terrorism and to express solidarity with the families of Peshawar school victims. PAT President Dr Raheeq Abbasi announced this while chairing a meeting at the party head office on Friday. He said 40 committees to oversee the management of the protest rallies had been formed. Warrants of arrest have been issued. Why? Because on 17th of June, for 12 hours the Government of Punjab through the police, those were on official dress. They fired on my house, on my secretariat, on my unarmed peaceful workers and killed 14 people including two ladies and 90 people seriously injured. Since FIR was not lodged and we had a march to Islamabad and just FIR was lodged after so much pressure. PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has underlined the need of eliminating terrorists of all hues and colours without any discrimination and said that time to engage them in talks is long past. He said that had Operation Zarb-e-Azb been carried out one year ago, we would not have been holding the dead bodies of our children in our hands today. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to media from the US. LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chairman Dr Tahirul Qardi in a statement issued from Lahore has strongly condemned the taking of an unknown number of people hostages by a gunman inside a chocolate shop and cafe in Sydney, Australia's largest city, at the height of Monday morning rush hour. Dr Tahirul Qadri said that the PAT strongly opposes such acts of terrorism and those doing so can never be Muslims as Islam is a religion of peace and preaches peace, love and tranquility. read more...
