PAT rally condemns Peshawar school slaughter
- APML, MQM also Join Awami Tehreek Protest
Islamabad: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Sunday held a peaceful protest rally to condemn slaughter of school children on Dec 16 by Taliban terrorists in Peshawar. Local and central leadership of the party led and addressed the rally. Secretary General of the PAT Khurram Nawaz Gandapur addressing condemning the cold-blood murder of young innocent students of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar by terrorists said terrorists wanted to see Pakistan a failed state and spoil its image and that of Islam in the eyes of the world. He said PAT was standing by the Pakistan armed forces for the sake of Pakistan and its ideology. He expressed solidarity with the relatives of all those assassinated in the terrorist attack. Umar Riaz Abbasi, Ibrar Raza Advocate, Naeem Sultan Kiyani, Irfan Tahir, Farooq Butt, Ajma Chaudhry, Sufyan Babar, Ghulam Ali Khan, Malik Afzal, Anar Khan, Tehmina Qayyum, Jameela Butt, Musarrat Sultana also addressed and participated in the rally.
APML leaders Ahmed Raza Kasuri, MQM’s Attiq Abbasi, Nadeem Khokhar and others also participated in the protest rally. Deputy Information Secretary of the PAT Umar Ria Abbasi in his remarks demanded the government to formally declare war on Taliban. He called for a joint sitting of the Parliament for legislation against Taliban and terrorists. He called upon the workers of the PAT to expedite their struggle against injustice, exploitation and oppression.
Ibrar Raza Advocate District President of the PAT and Ishtiaq Mir District Secretary General and Naeem Sultan Advocate District President Rawalpindi also condemned the Peshawar tragedy and vowed to chase terrorists and their supporters and sympathizers until they come to the righteous path or meet their fate. In the leadership of the PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri Pakistan Awami Tehreek will continue to wage war against corruption, injustices and exploitation, they said. A day earlier, Dr Qadri had given a clear line of action against terrorism and if his suggestions are followed in letter and spirit it will be possible to eliminate terrorism from society they said.
