Pakistan Awami Tehreek has expressed its grave concern on the government's failure to design a local government system and stop the elected representatives from working despite clear judicial orders. It has demanded that the government allows the LG representatives to work with complete administrative and fiscal freedom in line with the orders of the court. Addressing scores of protest rallies held across the country marking the seventh anniversary of Model Town tragedy, MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that it is perfectly understandable as to why justice was not provided during the incumbency of the previous government but asked as to why the doors of justice continue to remain shut in the PTI government. The Core Committee of Pakistan Awami Tehreek has decided to hold protests throughout the country on June 17 on the lack of justice in the Model Town case and stopping the impartial JIT from carrying out their investigation into the tragedy.
