Countrywide 'Zarb-e-Azb, Zarb-e-Haq' rallies held under PAT

Addressing the participants of the rally, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb was in fact Zarb-e-Haq and every child of Pakistan stood by their armed forces in this battle. He said that it was duty of every Pakistan to express solidarity with the armed forces. He said that the military was fighting a war for restoration of internal peace. He said that the government failed to eliminate terrorism and extremism in the country. He lauded the military’s decision to launch an operation against the terrorists, saying had it been left to the government, it would still have chosen to engage the terrorists in meaningless talks and thus provided them with space to re-arm and regroup themselves. read more...

Martyrdom’s toll rises to 14 as one more injured succumbs to injuries

With martyrdom of Shahbaz Mustafavi of Muridkay who succumbed to bullet injuries here today, the death toll of Model Town carnage has risen to 14. On June 17, the Punjab Police opened indiscriminate firing at unarmed and innocent workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Minhaj-ul-Quran International during their raid and martyred ten people in the process besides injuring over 100 people including 40 who were critically injured. read more...

Prominent Pakistan cleric threatens to lead 'revolution'

A prominent Pakistani cleric, who is due to return to his homeland on Monday, has threatened to lead mass protests against the government as part of his plan to stage a peaceful "revolution" to oust Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Dr Qadri has officially called for an immediate emergency response and humanitarian assistance and said: “The response to the situation has been too small to even begin to effectively address the needs of those displaced. The most urgent priority is to ensure that safe water as well as medicines are available, food supplies are provided and accelerate the delivery of desperately needed aid. Large number of PAT activists present within the premises of Lahore airport expressed happiness over their leader’s arrival, whereas, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri would leave for his home under private security. Qadri will visit injured activists of his political party under treatment in Jinnah hospital in Lahore under strict security measures before reaching home. According to reports, Qadri initially demanded security circle around him comprising of military personnel, however, further agreed to leave airport with private guards after rejecting government’s security. read more...

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he declared Operation Zarb-e-Azb as Jihad against terrorism. He announced that Pakistan Awami Tehreek would hold rallies every Friday to express solidarity with Pakistan Army.
