Greatest event in Pakistan's history begins

The proceedings of the biggest public gathering in Pakistan’s history got underway with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat at 8 a.m. The hundreds of thousands of people have reached Minar-e-Pakistan for participation in the grand public reception. The lush green and vast grounds of Minar-e-Pakistan have become full of people. The caravans of participants from Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala Divisions, Sheikhpura, Kasur, Pattoki, and other adjoining cities are on their way to the main venue. Grand Public Reception gets underway unofficially

The participants of public meeting started coming to the venue from the morning of December 21 and the number reached hundreds of thousands by the evening. Organized traffic and security arrangements were made on the adjoining roads of Minar-e-Pakistan on the first day. The caravans of people coming into the main venue from Data Darbar, Railway Station, Lari Adda, and Shahdra did not have to face any difficulty. Excellent security arrangements have been made for the hundreds of thousands of participants. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri reaches Lahore

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri reached Lahore to address a grand public reception being held in his honour to extend him a warm welcome at historic Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore on December 23. He would address 5 million people on the day in connection with ‘Let us save the state, not politics’ campaign. Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the count-down is on and only four days are left before the historic arrival of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in Pakistan. He said that the total area of Minar-e-Pakistan had been declared as the venue of the gathering and the huge central stage was being prepared for last two days. He said that hundreds of thousands of men, women and families would turn up at Minar-e-Pakistan to extend exemplary and historic welcome to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on his return. Replying to a question, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan would be a representative gathering of 180 million people and would not be a show of a single party. He said that the people would not have witnessed such a big and peaceful gathering in the entire history of the country. He said that the public gathering would truly be national in character, which would be attended by workers, farmers, the poor, shopkeepers, labourers and representatives of all walks of life.
