Qazi Faizul Islam, Secretary Information of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that a meeting of General Council of Pakistan Awami Tehreek was held under the chairmanship of PAT Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on Sunday. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri offered his Eid prayer in the central Minhaj-ul-Quran Mosque in Model Town, Lahore. He mingled with the people there after prayer and exchanged Eid greetings. He also met with the families of the martyrs of Model Town tragedy and the injured on this occasion and expressed his deepest sympathy with them. PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has rejected the government’s decision of handing Islamabad over to the army under Article 245 of the Constitution. He said that given the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in KPK, there was a need of invoking Article 245 there to protect people’s lives and properties. He said that dozens of people had been getting killed on daily basis in Karachi and target killing had been underway there for a very long time, adding that law and order situation in Karachi necessitated the imposition of Article 245. read more...
