Dr. Abdul Qadeer Made Pakistan's Defense Invincible — PAT
Senior leaders of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Mian Rehan Maqbool, Qazi Shafiq, and Qamar Abbas Dhool, said in a joint statement that Rana Sanaullah has hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakistanis by refusing to recognize Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan—the man who made Pakistan’s defense invincible—as a national hero. They questioned why such statements are made that only add salt to the wounds of the people.
The leaders strongly condemned Rana Sanaullah’s remarks and demanded that he withdraw his statement. They said that Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was a true and devoted Pakistani. The facts Dr. Qadeer stated about Rana Sanaullah’s political leader are indeed facts and cannot be denied.
"It is astonishing that those who looted Pakistan are considered heroes, but those who served the country are not. This reflects a mindset of confusion and prejudice," they said. "At the very least, such negative political attitudes should not be shown in matters of national security."
They further stated that history is not rewritten by mere statements. Every individual and institution that played a role in achieving nuclear capability deserves appreciation for their contributions.
