PAT fields candidates for 44 NA & 96 PA seats
PAT has issued the list of its candidates who are taking part on the party’s ticket for the national and provincial assembly elections on February 8. This list consists of the candidates whose nomination papers were accepted by the Election Commission of Pakistan. 44 candidates are contesting the polls for the national assembly seats whereas the number of those fielded for the provincial assembly positions is 96 across the country.
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that our politics is for the sake of the state. He said that the solution to the country’s problems lies in the change of the system. He said that the PAT candidates would emphasize the agenda of reforms within the assemblies.
Talking to the candidates, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Pakistan is confronted with several political, administrative and economic challenges at the moment. He said it is important to evolve national consensus on the way forward to deal with these challenges. He further said that given the present level of political acrimony, it is crucial that de-escalation takes place. He said the problem can only be resolved with a constructive approach of engagement, not through hatred and revenge. He said the PAT candidates would not target other political parties or personalities in their respective campaigns.
“Our election campaign is centered on getting the people out of the plethora of problems,” he added. The individuals participating in the elections for the National Assembly are as follows:
