PAT has finalized the list of its candidates: Mian Rehan Maqbool

PAT Central Punjab President Mian Rehan Maqool has said that the stage of filing the nomination papers has passed and more than 250 PAT candidates have filed their papers with the Election Commission of Pakistan for the national and provincial assembly seats. He said that we are in touch with several independent candidates, adding that we would spring a surprise on February 8.

Mian Rehan Maqbool said that PAT has compiled the list of the candidates the party is fielding for the provincial and national assembly seats in the upcoming polls. He said that the PAT candidates are highly educated, belong to the middle class and understand the problems of the people. He said that the workers are the real asset of the party, stating that PAT would start the election campaign soon with full gusto.

PAT central Punjab President made these remarks while talking to the party delegations from Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Kasur and Lahore in the office. He said that the welfare of the people, the protection of their rights, and the change of the outdated system are the highlights of the PAT’s manifesto. He said that PAT believes in the politics of peace, equality and love and has always rejected the politics of divisiveness, hate and slander.

Singling out the current system, Mian Rehan Maqbool said that the people including the lower classes have mercilessly been exploited under this system. He said that the unjust distribution of resources has made the rich richer and the poor poorer, leading to mass-scale disappointment.

“Ever since the PAT was formed, it has done politics with an agenda based on the promotion of knowledge, peace, and human rights by staying away from traditional politics. Our politics is for the welfare and betterment of the teeming millions,” he said.
