PAT Seminar identifies corruption as the root cause of Pakistan's problems
Pakistan Awami Tehreek arranged a seminar to celebrate the 145th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the central secretariat. The speakers were unanimous in their view that corruption has destroyed the Quaid's Pakistan. They said that corruption is the biggest hurdle in the way of making Pakistan the country that our Quaid envisioned it to be. They demanded that the punishment for corruption should be capital punishment. Those who addressed the seminar included PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, central Secretary Information Noorullah Siddiqui, Basharat Jaspal, Mian Rehan Maqbool, Raja Zahid Mahmood, and Arif Chaudhry.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said in his speech at the seminar that the Quaid-i-Azam achieved Pakistan as a shelter for the poor. He said that it is unfortunate that a few dozen wealthy families have turned the country into a beggar by looting its national resources. He said that today Pakistan is mired in a debt trap. He said that if the politicians who got power had been faithful to the country, they would neither have set up the empires of their wealth in London, New York, and other countries of the world nor would have faced the cases involving money laundering, kickback, commissions, and illegal assets.
PAT Secretary General said that all the political parties including the PMLN that came into power plundered the national resources with both hands and resultantly the people were pauperized. He said those who will give relief to the looters will also be the national culprits. He said it is unfortunate that the children of the prime ministers that looted Pakistan are seen to be giving lectures on honesty, truth, and fair play.
A special Dua for the peace and prosperity of the country was made at the conclusion of the seminar. The cake marking the 145th birth anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam was also cut on the occasion. The participants of the seminar also conveyed their congratulations to members of the Christian community on the festive occasion of Christmas.
