MYL holds protest demonstrations against Nawaz’s anti-state statement
Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League and PAT Youth Wing staged a demonstration in front of Lahore Press Club to protest the pro-India and anti-Pakistan statement of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The protesters were carrying placards and banners and chanting slogans in favor of Pakistan army and judiciary and against the pro-India tilt of the former premier. The demonstration, which was led by Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, was attended by hundreds of students and youths belonging to MYL including Hafiz Waqar, Abdul Hannan Tahir, and Sabir Kamal Wattoo.
Addressing the participants of the demonstrations, Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal said that MYL took out protest rallies across thirty cities of the country in the first phase, which were attended by thousands of youths in a peaceful manner. He said that the massive participation of the students and youths in these rallies was reflection of their love for the motherland and disapproval of the ousted prime minister. He said that disqualified Nawaz Sharif gave this statement to please his comrade Modi. He said that the youths of the country are seriously concerned on this statement. He said that MYL and PAT will plead the case of love for the motherland at every level and will not allow any disqualified and corrupt person to commit an act of treason against the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Waqar termed the statement of Nawaz Sharif as a conspiracy against the state. He said that the corrupt former ruler has attacked the integrity of the country by giving pro-India statement. He said that the statement by the disgraced Prime Minister is an attack on the national security, stating that it is our demand on the platform of MYL and PAT that a treason case should be registered against Nawaz Sharif and he is meted out exemplary punishment in such a manner that no one dares repeat what he said in future.
Abdul Hannan Tahir said in his speech that Nawaz Sharif wants to spread anarchy in the land just to save his ill-gotten wealth and avoid the process of accountability. He said that Nawaz Sharif has started showing his enmity with the country. He said that if character assassination campaign against the state institutions did not stop, then MYL will be forced to expand the protest campaigns. He said that we pray to the apex court to order the registration of treason case against the former premier.
MYL has announced to stage demonstrations in 50 cities of the country in the second phase. It said that the thousands of workers and youth stand by the Pakistan armed forces and fully support them in their sacred task of defending the motherland.
