PAT demands registration of treason case against Nawaz Sharif
Pakistan Awami Tehreek has decided to take part in the upcoming general elections with full preparations and issued a guidelines for its candidates in this regard.
The decision to this effect was taken by the PAT in its Executive Council meeting here at the party’s central secretariat yesterday. The Executive Council strongly condemned Nawaz Sharif’s accusation of sending terrorists to India and termed it as an act of treason. It demanded that a high-powered commission should be set up to ascertain the veracity of Nawaz’s accusation and he should be asked to clarify his statement. The meeting also denounced the targeted campaign launched by the N League leaders against the state institutions such as military and judiciary. The artificial hike in the prices of the necessary items ahead of Ramazan was also criticized and their immediate withdrawal was demanded.
The meeting was attended by Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Qazi Zahid Hussain, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich, Sahibzada Muhammad Nazir Sultan, Khalid Durrani, Noorullah Siddiqi, Mian Rehan Maqbool, zonal presidents of Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan and members of the Executive Council attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the solution to the problem lies in the ten-point vision of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He asked the PAT candidates to include the slogan of ‘change the system’ in their electoral toolkit. He said that time has come to tell the nation that the root cause of all the evils and problem is the system, which is in acute need of reforms. He said that this system created characters such as Nawaz Sharif and gave birth to tragedies such as Model Town. He said that as long as this system remains in vogue, the political elite will never allow the country to progress.
Central PAT President Qazi Zahid Hussain said that the present system has become a threat to the existence of the country. He said that new social contract is required, adding that elections were not held as per Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, the same corrupt political elite will be back to saddle. He said that the PAT is not a commonplace political party. He said that the party was founded on an ideology for which sacrifices were also rendered. He said that we would take part in the elections on the basis of the same ideology. He said that spreading of awareness among the masses for their rights is a huge achievement.
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that a high treason case should be registered against Nawaz Sharif. He said that disqualified Nawaz Sharif’s statements against integrity of Pakistan are unacceptable. He said that a case of terrorism should be registered against him.
Various proposals in connection with the upcoming elections were discussed on the occasion. Secretary Information PAT briefed the meeting about the progress on the Model Town case. He said that trial is happening on daily basis in the anti-terrorism case after the suo motu notice by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
