PAT candidate announces support for Dr Yasmeen Rashid of PTI in NA-120

Ishtiaq Chaudhry Advocate, PAT’s candidate for NA 120 by-election, has announced to support PTI’s candidate Dr Yasmeen Rashid. A high-powered PTI delegation consisting of Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Andleeb Abbas visited the secretariat of PAT and requested for support of the party. They held a meeting with PAT leaders namely GM Malik, Noorullah Siddiqi, Jawad Hamid, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti, Afzal Gujjar, Arif Chaudhry, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, and Raja Nadeem.

Talking to media after the meeting, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed thanked Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, PAT leaders and candidate Ishtiaq Ch Advocate for supporting the PTI candidate in the by-poll for NA 120 seat that fell vacant due to disqualification of Nawaz Sharif. He said that the ruling PML-N has brought a great damage to the country. He said that the way Pakistan is being threatened today, no country could do that in the past. He said that as long as the PML-N is in power, the country cannot stand on its feet.

GM Malik underlined the need of unity in the ranks of political parties to face up to those whom the SC dubbed as corrupt and mafia. He said that both PAT and PTI have had excellent understanding on different issues including the movement for justice for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy, adding that it is due to this close coordination between both parties that we have decided to support the PTI in the by-election.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Ishtaiq Ch advocate said that he is bound by the decision of his leadership and party. He said that he withdraws his nomination in favor of Dr Yasmeen Rashid and pledged that he would run her political campaign like his own. He said that we would go door to door and canvass for support of Dr Yasmeen. He said that the mafia will IA be defeated.

Shaukat Ali Ch, Secretary General of Pakistan Mazdoor Mahaz, and Fazal Wahid, President of All-Pakistan Trade Union Federation, announced to support PTI candidate Dr Yasmeen Rashid on behalf of PAT.

Dr Yasmeen Rashid thanked the PAT leader Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and Ishtiaq Ch Advocate for the supported announced by them. A committee under the leadership of Ch Afzal Gujjar was constituted that will campaign for Dr Yasmeen in NA-120.
