Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri urges NAB to act against corruption
Addressing the Central Working Council meeting of PAT, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that it is hoped that the cries of the heirs of the Model Town incident have reached the echelon of justice. He said that it is for the first time in the history of the country that women and children took to streets in their thousands to seek justice. He said that these oppressed people who were wronged by the government only demand justice.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that behind the power of Nawaz Sharif is the government of Shahbaz Sharif, adding that it is only when both forces of evil reach their end that the system of oppression will be eliminated. He said that if the Sharifs got a chance, such words as ‘honest’, trust worthy’ etc. will be deleted from the Constitution. He said that the NAB has got a rare window of opportunity to revive its image as well as credibility and it should not let it go. He said that the law has already taken its course, it is now the responsibility of the people of Pakistan to play their political role now.
Dr Qadri said that it was honest leadership that brought Pakistan into being but our country was damaged by the dishonest leaders. He asked the opposition parties not to waste even a moment in uniting against the negative agenda of the rulers. He said that the nature has given a rare chance of putting Pakistan on the path of real democracy.
The meeting of the central Working Council was attended by Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brig (r ) Iqbal and other leaders.
The PAT Chairman said that the Changa Manga forest has vanished but the politics of loot and plunder, and selling of loyalties that was fostered under its shadow continues to remain intact. He said that the mindset of the loot will have to be done away with, otherwise there is a fear that corruption will continue to rear its head in different forms and manifestations. He said that the Judges of the larger bench of the Supreme Court and the JIT members upheld the banner of law and Constitution, stating that it is now on NAB to follow suit and repair its battered image. He asked the NAB officials to demonstrate their love for Pakistan and the Constitution for fulfillment of this moral, political and democratic mission. He warned that if any institution showed laxity and did not rise to the occasion, the succeeding generations will not forgive us.
