Public backlash to be stronger than rulers’ expectations: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri got a briefing from the PAT lawyers yesterday in connection with the update on the progress of the private complaint and the ongoing efforts to get a copy of the Model Town Judicial Report. He said that there is a perception that adverse court decisions are not delivered in case of the Sharif brothers, adding that no serious effort has ever been made to dispel this impression. He said that what to speak of democracy, even humanity cannot evolve and progress without the justice system. He said that the reverberation of the case of 14 people’s killings was heard throughout the world but none of the institution of the government including those responsible for dispensation of justice took any serious view of this human tragedy.
Dr Qadri said that the people’s response against oppression and injustice will be fiercer than the wild imagination of the rulers. He said that the second round of the Qisas movement has yet to come, adding that we know who the killers are and there is no way they would be forgiven the blood of innocent people, come what may.
The briefing was attended by Rai Bashir Ahmad Advocate, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, Ishtiaq Ch Advocate, Ghazanfar Advocate, Syed Farzand Ali Mash`hadi Advocate and senior party leaders.
Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry told the meeting that the hearing of the private complaint has been scheduled for November 8 in the anti-terrorism court. He said that the witnesses have recorded their statements in the private complaint.
Ishtiaq Ch Advocate said that the bench seized of the petition to give its verdict regarding the Justice Baqir Najfi report has been constituted after six months, which will hear the case on December 6. Arguments, which have already been concluded two months ago, will be delivered afresh. He told that when the bench gets dissolved and new one formed, arguments are presented anew.
Responding to this, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed his surprise, saying that a petition was filed in August 2014 to get a copy of the Justice Baqr Najfi Commission report and no decision has come despite passage of two years. He said that the families of the martyrs and the injured of the Model Town await justice and no headway has been made in the matter. He said that there is an idiom that law is blind but in our case, it has eyes and can see against who to act and against who not to. He said that the report of the Model Town Judicial Commission is not being released because it contains the information about the identity of those who murdered innocent people. He said that the killers would not be able to easily get away with the murder of the innocents nor will they be forgiven.
