Situation graver today than it was on October 12, 1999: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has stated that he said in his speech at the public meeting in Rawalpindi on September 3 that Nawaz Sharif wants to have a control on Pakistan Army like he has on the Punjab police. He said that the Prime Minister House is busy in planning the replication of the Tayyip Erdogan model in Pakistan and the news story published in the English newspaper is the start of this process. He said that situation here is graver than what it was on October 12, 1999. He said that those who consider the military establishment as a hurdle in the way of their agenda would take no time to send their greetings and salutations on the mention of Gen Zia-ul-Haq’s name to suit their objectives. He said that the Sharifs spent 30 years in trying to control the army, adding that had they spent this much period on provision of basic necessities such as education, health and justice to the people, the people of Pakistan would have been better off today. He said that the PAT workers rendered sacrifices in man and material against the corrupt and oppressive system, which will not go in vain.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while addressing the members of PAT media and social media teams here at the central secretariat through video link. He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif’s desire of becoming Tayyip Erdogan will never be successful, adding that the situation is worse that it was in 1999. He said that contents of the news story published by an English newspaper are the same which are mouthed by the enemies of Pakistan day in and day out. He said that the news story has been got published, adding that this is nothing less than an attack on the country’s integrity. He demanded that those involved in the episode should be brought to justice.
Meanwhile Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed ‘Pegham e Imam e Hussain Conference’ at the central secretariat on the night of Ashura and said that two kinds of character emerged after the martyrdom of Imam e Hussain (RA): Yazidiyat, which is a metaphor of oppression, violation of human rights, wretchedness, exploitation and bloodshed and Hussainiyat, which is a symbol of love, peace, forbearance, patience, justice and protection of rights of humanity. He asked the youth and the women to make the study of the holy personages of Karbala the part of their routine and follow their teachings in their day-to-day life.
The Conference was organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council and attended among others by Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Haji Imdadullah Qadri, Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Maulana Aslam Nadeem Naqshbandi, Maulana Hafiz Nauman Jalandhari, and Allama Niaz Hussain Bokhari. A large number of PAT workers and the people belonging to different segments of society attended the Conference.
