Cybercrime Act meant to disempower youth: PAT
In their strong reaction to approval of Cybercrime Act, PAT leaders have said that the rulers are not accustomed to seeing and hearing truth. They said that black Cybercrime Act will be used to keep the youth away from joining the national mainstream and that they will be stopped from expressing their independent opinion. They said that we vehemently reject this black law.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja and Noorullah Siddiqui said that the Pemra is being used to control the electronic media and in the same way, the Cybercrime law will now be put to use to stop the youth from giving independent political opinions and comments. They said that the government has lost the support of the masses in general and the youth in particular.
They said that the unpopular leaders should leave power instead of taking shelter in the laws. They said that if the cartoons of Obama and the British Queen can be sketched, why cannot those of the rulers? They said that social media is the powerful instrument of two-day contact which cannot be rendered ineffective through such tactics. They said that the rulers are fearful of criticism.
