Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri announces sit-in in 100 cities on August 20
LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek will be staging sit-in in over 100 cities of the country for seeking justice in the Model Town incident, end of terrorism and arrest of criminals in the Panama Leaks.
This was stated by Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, chairman of the party while addressing party leaders and journalists at his residence on Thursday. He questioned that does the Punjab Government not allow a combing operation in the ‘Sacred Cow’ Punjab. He said had there been a People’s Party government in Punjab, a combing operation would have started many years ago. He further asked why is it that India is fighting the survival war for the Sharifs’.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that as a policy Nawaz Sharif has instructed half of his minister to criticize the Pakistan Army while the other half are told to speak against the criticizing ministers. He demanded a forceful operation against terrorists and their facilitators be launched in Punjab which is the breeding grounds for extremists and terrorists. Once again the Pat Chief said that we will not rest for anything less than Qisas in the Model Town murders case.
The PAT chairman said that those who bulldozed the National Action Plan will once again do the same as many terrorists’ organizations have the backing of the Sharif family and work as a militant wing for the PML-N. He said the Sharifs' can never order army action their own organization and will never let any action be taken against them.
The PAT Chief said that the responsibility of criticizing the army has been given to the PML-N allies from the smaller provinces. He said the PM in his address to the National Assembly desisted from uttering a single word condemning those who spoke against the army. He said India should stop committing human rights violations in Held Kashmir instead of showing its support for the Sharif government. He said finally after 17 months the government has decided to act on the National Action Plan.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed his heartfelt condolences on the death of cricket legend Hanif Muhammad and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the family to bear this loss with courage.
