Sharif family wants control on Corridor like Ittefaq Foundry: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the ruling family wants to have an exclusive control on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project like the one it has on the Ittefaq Foundry. They want to be in a position whereby they could mortgage or sell or trade it as per their desires. He said that the rulers should be kept away from sensitive information regarding national security because their wealth, bank balance, businesses and children are outside of Pakistan.
Dr Qadri expressed these views while talking to the members of the Centre Core Committee at his residence here today. He expressed his satisfaction on the arrangements made for the political movement starting from August 6 and the zeal and zest of the workers in this regard. He said that justice in the Model Town case will pave the way for opening of the stalled doors of justice on the masses and the powerful will not be able to oppress the weak in future. He said that the Sharif family does not have any stake in Pakistan because their monetary interests lie outside. He said that economic ‘exploits’ of the rulers have come to the fore after the Panama leaks.
The PAT Chairman said that no one has responded to or negated the proofs we presented with regard to sending of the police officials to India for medical treatment and that the Prime Minister continues to remain silent on the arrest of the Indian spies caught here. He said that we are of the view that the attitude of the Sharif government based on stubbornness and clash of interests with the security institutions can prove to be detrimental for the future of the corridor project. He said that this government of the traders is the biggest enemy of this project of national progress and prosperity. He said that the government has also failed to address the concerns and reservations of the smaller provinces with regard to the CPEC.
Dr Qadri said that as long as the mandate of construction of the project is with the national security institutions, the future of the project is bright. He said that the Sharif government committed dishonesty by not presenting details of the PC-1 of various projects being undertaken in Punjab and the western routes in Parliament, which has led the smaller provinces to pick up a fight with the centre. He said that the present rulers have mortgaged the Lahore-Islamabad motorway with the foreigners for 500 Euros, which means that they can do anything for their interests.
