PAT Chairman to reach Lahore today
Talking to media at the Heathrow before his departure for Pakistan, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that our protest and sit in is for the sake of justice for the oppressed and martyrs of Model Town. He said that the Islamabad sit-in laid the foundation of revolution, adding that edifice will be completed soon. He said that justice has not been served in the Model Town case despite passage of two years and we have got no option but to take to streets to demand justice. He said that had institutions responsible for delivery of justice been free and independent, the hundreds of families would not suffered oppression. He said that it took the Army Chief to intervene for registration of FIR and now it has been two years since justice is awaited. He said that he would announce the next course of action for justice on The Mall.
The PAT Chairman said that Pakistan is getting isolated in the region due to lop-sided vision and incompetence of rulers. He said that the country is counted among the worst lot in terms of human rights abuses and rampant corruption. He said the earlier the masses get rid of the corrupt system the better it would be for the country.
Meanwhile, a meeting of PAT Core Committee was held at the central secretariat with Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri in the chair. The meeting reviewed the reception arrangements including security of Dr Qadri. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that women would also be in the reception to greet their leader. He said that seventeen administrative committees are making the arrangements of the sit-in. He informed that Dr Qadri would leave for his residence after speaking to media at the airport.
The meeting was attended by Brig (r ) Iqbal Ahmad, Khawaja Amir Farid Koreja, Fayyaz Warriach, Noorullah Saddiqi, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Sajid Bhatti, Farah Naz, Mazhar Alvi, Irfan Yousuf.
