Allegation of firing against MQI workers baseless: Spokesperson
A Spokesperson of PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the subordinate officers of the Punjab government are telling lies under oath in connection with Model Town case. He said that they would not be able to escape the divine wrath. He said that the statements of the police and district administration officials are full of contradictions. He said that had any MQI worker resorted to firing, some police officials would have been injured and such a sight would have been captured.
Responding to the statement of the DCO Lahore, the spokesperson said that both the DCO and former DIG are telling manifest lies, adding that 14 workers were martyred and 85 others were injured as a result of police firing whose video proofs are present. He said that the police did what it was sent for. He said that the police was given the task of killing the family members of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. Otherwise there was no point of carrying out anti-encroachment operation at the mid night. He said that the police wanted to barge into the residence and the women workers stopped them at the gate. That is why they were martyred through firing of burst of bullets at their faces. He said that the district administration and police played the role of accomplice.
