Lahorities must unite against government’s vandalism: PAT Chief Coordinator
PAT Chief Coordinator Major (r ) Muhammad Saeed has said that the Shahbaz government is on the mission of vandalizing national heritage, building metros and earning money. He said that the residents of Lahore city who saw the sale of Ravi River to India and its going dry in front of their eyes should not remain quiet on the vandalism of historic heritage. He asked the Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus and Christians to get together for protection of Lahore’s proverbial beauty and stop the city from being rendered into a graveyard of development projects.
The PAT Chief Coordinator expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Christian Party led by its founder Pervez Masih at the party’s central secretariat yesterday. Shaukat Saleem Khokhar, Shaukat Diyal, Amir Shaukat, Asraf Gill and Mushtaq Sadiq were other members of the delegation.
Major (r ) Saeed said that the people of Lahore are so helpless that civilization of Lahore is being vandalized in front of them but they cannot do anything to stop this merciless campaign. He said that it appears that the Sharif brothers have said good-bye to Lahore and settled in their own world, which explains why they are seen destroying and repairing every bazar and road of Lahore. He said that a great deal of concern is found among the non-Muslim minorities in addition to majority community regarding the Shahbaz government’s craze for mindless development.
The PAT Chief Coordinator said that historic cultural places of Lahore have kept diverse communities of Lahore woven together in social fabric of the city and the present rulers are bulldozing on this civilizational relation. He said that we are sure that 90% of people of the city have no interest whatsoever in the development works of Lahore nor are these projects meant for welfare of majority of people.
