PAT accelerates its election campaign ahead of local government elections
PAT has accelerated the election campaign of its candidates who are taking part in the upcoming local bodies elections in Lahore. The provincial office holders of the party have been assigned duties in different union councils of the city. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din along with Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, and the PAT candidates for the office of chairman and deputy chairman, Ch. Naeem-ud-Din Advocate and Ch. Nadeem Gondal visited the UC 239 yesterday and inaugurated newly built office there.
Addressing hundreds of workers on the occasion, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the people should give votes in favour of the candidates of the party, which has a manifesto of making local government institutions powerful. He said that formation of powerful and responsive local government institutions is part of the ten-point agenda of the PAT. He said that the PAT ticket holders are vanguard of revolution. By putting their stamp on the electoral symbol of ‘motorbike’, they should get them elected. He asked as to how long the people will continue to vote for tried and tested faces that have not brought anything except corruption, misery and poor governance. He said that the PAT candidates will restore the prestige of the local government institutions and deliver justice at the doorsteps of the people.
PAT candidates Ch. Naeem-ud-Din Gujjar, Ch. Nadeem Gondal, Saeed Gujjar, Aslam Labha, and Adil Waheed also spoke on the occasion. The workers chanted passionate slogans on the occasion.
A motorcycle rally was taken out in UC 180 under the leadership of PAT Chief Coordinator Major (r ) Muhammad Saeed. PAT candidates Abdul Waheed Khan, Qari Bashir, Major (r ) Muhammad Saeed, Muhammad Umar Khan, Rana Jawed and Ch Nazir Advocate addressed the rally. Speaking on the occasion, Major (r ) Saeed said that the workers of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri are waging a struggle against corruption, terrorism, injustice, and unemployment. He said that it is time that people stop the way of the oppressors with the power of the ballot. He asked the people of Lahore to put their stamp on the electoral symbol of ‘motorcycle’ to purge Lahore of undue official interference and corruption. He said that those who humiliated the people at their big houses for seven years do not deserve to be reelected.
