Political atomic bomb of corruption should be defused to save country: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Addressing the meeting of the central Core Committee of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the present oppressive system and corrupt government is the major hurdle in the way of complete elimination of terrorism. He said that the political atomic bomb of corruption should be defused to save the country, adding that crippled democracy is no cure to any ill. He said that Parliament seems to be suspended as it has even receded from its role of a rubberstamp. He said that the government’s culture of kitchen cabinet and dynamistic rule has inflicted incalculable harm on the polity. He said that eradication of economic terrorism is part of the National Action Plan, demanding that 150 big fish and their facilitators should be apprehended.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Basharat Aziz Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam, and Noorullah Siddiqui were present in the meeting.
The meeting strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the PAF base in Peshawar. The participants expressed their deepest sense of grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of security officials and civilians. A resolution unanimously adopted in the meeting paid rich tributes to the officers and jawans of the armed forces who embraced martyrdom while fighting the terrorists. The meeting also expressed its concern on the arrests of the PAT vice president Bhakhar and Sabir Khan, a South Punjab PAT leader. It prayed to the court to quash false cases registered by the police against the workers. The participants said that the government is using police to stop the PAT leaders and workers from running their political campaign for the LG polls and the false cases are being registered against them.
The meeting also expressed its grave concern on the fact that the Election Commission of Pakistan was informed of the government’s merciless use of the public money and the official machinery during the LG polls campaign but nothing has been done so far. It also showed its concern on the price hike, increase in load-shedding and deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said in his talk that the accountability of the Sharif brothers should start from the Model Town tragedy. He said that one year has passed but 14 martyrs have not been provided justice. He said that we are running out of patience. He said that we cannot see tears in the eyes of the heirs of martyrs nor can we stand idle while the country goes down the drain. He said that the whole nation has seen the reality of the so-called ministers who left no stone unturned to defend their leaders on the fateful day of June 17. He said that the Chief Minister, who claims transparency, covered up the crime of his education minister despite irrefutable proofs of his corruption being there. He said that corruption and mismanagement of the Nandipur power project has shaken up the whole nation.
Dr Qadri asked the Prime Minister as to why the Nandipur corruption reference has not been filed in the NAB court so far. He said that the so-called champion of democracy who ganged up against the sit-in under one umbrella have been making hue and cry over and above the parliament, asking them as to why they do not defend their so-called democracy and its principles by calling the joint session of Parliament. He said that Pakistan is at a crossroad of its history and the workers should get ready to play their political and national role.
