Kasur child abuse case the most brazen incident in country’s history: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Describing the Kasur child abuse scandal as the most brazen and the worst incident of the national history, PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that no crime can happen without the patronage and knowledge of police and the government. He said that the police uses batons and bullets to suppress, terrify and harass those who raise their voice against oppression and the Chief Minister buys time to save the skin of real culprits by announcing the establishment of judicial commissions.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the Punjab Chief Minister to release the report of the Model Town Judicial Commission before announcing the establishment of a new commission to probe Kasur child abuse scandal, adding that he should tell the nation as to why the report of Model Town Judicial Commission was not released despite passage of one year. He said that when the report of the Commission is not to the liking of the Punjab’s ruler, he throws it into dustbin and there is no one to ask him about his act. He said that it has been five months since we have been knocking at the doors of the courts to get the copy of the Model Town Judicial Commission report but to no avail so far.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to the central media cell yesterday. He said that last eight years have seen a number of heart-rending and grave scandals coming to surface in Punjab and invariably behind all these shameful acts were the Punjab police and the members of the ruling party. He said that what to speak of punishing the culprit in any of these cases, even their fair trial was not allowed. Mentioning the names of various tragedies that happened under the incumbency of the present government such as Joseph Colony tragedy, Kot Radha Kishan tragedy, Sambrial tragedy, super floods 2010, and the Model Town tragedy, he said that the role of police and the rulers could be seen to be clearly discernible behind all these tragedies. He said that what is unfortunate is that none of the culprits was allowed to be punished.
Dr Qadri said that the high-ups of the Punjab government are downplaying the gravity and criticality of the child sexual abuse case by describing it as a land dispute, which proves that there is an involvement of the some blue-eyed people of the government in the scandal, adding that efforts have already begun to save the skin of these blue-eyed people. He said that it is for this reason that we demand that the trial of the child abuse case should be conducted in the military court so that the rulers of the Punjab could not be able to influence the process of justice. He said that the way the Punjab government got the report of their liking by constituting the JIT of their loyal officers on the Model Town tragedy and massacred justice in broad daylight; they would not let the cause of justice be served in the case of Kasur scandal as well. He directed the PAT Human Rights Wing and local chapters of the party in Kasur to keep a vigilant eye on the matter, stand by the oppressed families and raise their voice for justice.
