PTI Punjab endorses PAT’s decision to observe May 11 as black day
A PTI delegation led by PTI Punjab President Ijaz Chaudhry visited the central secretariat of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and held a meeting with PAT Punjab President Basharat Aziz Jaspal. Khurram Shahzad and Zahid Chaudhry were other members of the PTI delegation, whereas the PAT delegation consisted of General Secretary Mushtaq Nonari Advocate, Raja Zahid, Raja Nadeem, and Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry.
Speaking on the occasion, Ijaz Chaudhry said that PTI supports the PAT’s announcement to observe May 11 as the black day. He said that PTI will stage demonstrations against the present rulers, adding that they are the worst failure in the history of country and the time for decisive struggle against them has come. He said that PTI and PAT workers have been killed during the incumbency of the present rulers and we would avenge the killings of our workers together through law and justice system.
Ijaz Chaudhry said that the PMLN-led government is using the state power for victimization of political opponents. He said that the Model Town tragedy is the worst incident of human rights violation and abuse of state power. He said that innocent people were killed at the behest of the government, adding that the tragedy is so heart-rending that it cannot be forgotten. He said that it is unfortunate that despite passage of 9 months, no progress on the case has been made except registration of FIR.
Ijaz Chaudhry said that they have come to the PAT secretariat as a goodwill gesture. He said that we would observe black day at divisional headquarters to highlight the atrocities and oppression committed on civilians and the political workers.
The PTI delegation enquired after the health of PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and prayed for his early recovery.
In his remarks on the occasion, Basharat Jaspal welcomed the PTI delegation. He said that the way Pharaoh slaughtered children to save his power, the present government has killed the innocent civilians in the same manner just to perpetuate their stay in power.
The leaders of both parties decided to continue the political contact. They showed their agreement that the Election Tribunal’s order of re-polling in NA-125 has exposed the reality of the General Elections 2013.
