‘PAT suspended, not ended sit-in’
Pakistan
Awami Tehrik (PAT) did not end its sit-in at Islamabad but rather it temporarily
suspended it, a spokesman for Dr Tahirul Qadri said in a press release on Friday.
The spokesman accused federal and Punjab governments for harassing the PAT leadership, including Dr Qadri by forcing police to register false FIR against Qadri and other leaders.
He said the PAT would welcome if the Model Town incident case was forwarded to military courts.
He asked the government to stop using anti-terrorists court against its political opponents, saying that the government was forcing the PAT to come to the streets.
He said houses of the PAT workers were being raided by police and their family members were facing the worst kind of state terrorism.
