Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri condemns attack on army camp in Gujrat
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has condemned in the strongest possible words the terrorist attack on an army camp near Gujrat in which eight army men and a police official embraced martyrdom. Describing the incident as one of the worst, he termed the killing of army personnel as a national loss.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri stated in unequivocal terms that those who have perpetrated this attack on the defenders of the national frontiers had nothing to do with either Pakistan or Islam. Such elements, he said, were stain on the face of our society who needed to be cleansed. He said that terrorists wanted to weaken Pakistan internally and resort to such attacks was one of the strategies designed to achieve this purpose.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that the majority of the people were peace loving and it were a handful of miscreant elements who underpinned sectarian ideology were bent on destroying peace. Through their actions, they were bringing both Pakistan and Islam into disrepute at the international level. He asked the peaceful majority to rise up against those who wanted to hurt peace by trying to weaken Pakistan.
Shaykh-ul-Islam prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in peace and give patience to the bereaved families.
