PAT for urgent action to resolve Balochistan crisis
Expressing his grave concern over the target killing in Quetta, Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has condemned the horrific wave of killings that has gone on unabated for last many weeks. He said that situation in Balochistan in general had hit rock bottom and every Pakistan was worried over the direction the country was taking. He warned of anti-Pakistan elements who wanted to conspire against the country.
PAT President expressed these views while talking delivering a telephonic talk at a meeting of PAT Balochistan office holders the other day.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that the ruling elite was more concerned about politicking than in resolving the national crises bedeviling the country. He asked the government to reset its priorities in the light of new challenges to the country’s security, sovereignty and integrity from both within and without.
PAT President said that the anti-Pakistan forces wanted to create a situation like one that existed in 1971 when the country was halved. He said that putting an end to incidents such as target killing was very important to prevent the repeat of the situation.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Balochistan was integral part of Pakistan but the entire nation was duty bound to play their role for national security and sovereignty at both collective and individual levels. He said that it was national responsibility of every Pakistani to work for the country’s integrity by rising above divide of every kind, be it linguistic, and ethnic etc.
PAT President underscored the need of addressing the grievances of the federating units and urged the federal and provincial governments to work out a national policy in this respect. He said that if all strands of national and political opinion got together for the sake of country, there was no reason why threats posed to Balochistan could not be foiled.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani urged the people to wake up and work hard for bringing about real change in the country through peaceful means.
