Norwegian delegation confers peace award on Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
A delegation of Norwegian religious leaders led by Pastor Braiki, head of the International Relations, visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and called on Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, central Amir-e-Tehreek, Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of MQI and Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, senior Deputy Secretary General today. Central Coordinator of Muslim-Christian Dialogue Forum, G.M. Malik, Jawad Hamid, Raja Jamil Ajmal, and Hafiz Ghulam Farid were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the delegation, Dr Raheeq Abbasi threw light on the services of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri aimed at eliminating violence, extremism and terrorism, and promoting inter-faith dialogue, harmony and respect for humanity. He also apprised the delegation of the historic role played by MQI and the loud and clear message of peace that emanated from the Peace for Humanity Conference held in Wembley Arena in London in which leading figures of the six major religions participated in a prayer for peace.
Appreciating the services of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for peace and interfaith harmony, the delegation conferred the peace award on him in recognition of his services, which was received by Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani on his behalf.
The Norwegian delegation was gifted the books and CDs of speeches of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. G.M. Malik conducted the visit of the delegation to various directorates and departments of MQI. The Norwegian delegation consisted of Raddin Christopherson, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Guard and others.
Dr Marqas Fida, Suleman Amanat, Javed Akhtar and Nadim Sadiq were also present.
