Government has little to show: Dr Raheeq Abbasi
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the people of Pakistan have been exercising patience since the death of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whereas the Prime Minister is taunting them for being impatient instead of admitting the failures of his government. He said that if this practice of the ruling elite continued, the country was sure to be afflicted with bleak future.
Dr Abbasi expressed these views on the current situation in the country while talking to a group of scholars of Farid-e-Millat Research Institute. He asked the political class who has been misusing the people for their political ends such as sit-ins, political rallies, that if the people ran out of patience, they would sweep them in the flood of their anger. He said that the statement of the Prime Minister was tantamount to smarting the wounds of people.
He said that the government had little to show in terms of performance for the people. The political wheeling and dealing for the sake of power was the sum total of the government’s output. He said that both ruling and opposition political parties did not have existence in the country. Therefore, it was important for the people to launch peaceful struggle against the corrupt system.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi said that the system strengthened the political elite, who after enjoying political power and economic advantages that came with it, transferred the blame on the people of the country. He said that without sending the present political system packing, the so-called political elite would continue to play havoc with them and their rights would be denied.
Dr Abbasi asked the people to join the ranks of MQI if they did not want to spoil their present and future through the repeat of their past. He said that when the people would get back their rights usurped by 2% of the powerful minority, the political class would not be able to accuse them of being impatient. He said that
