This is the first visit the Mayor of London has made to a Muslim place of worship since his appointment to office. On 26th September Laylat-ul-Qadr (Night of Power) was commemorated at the MQI Glasgow under the guidance of Allama Shahid Baber. It was the first time the Tarawih Prayer was lead in the MQI Glasgow and the complete Qur'an was recited by Hafiz Muhammad Siddiqi in his unique voice. On 24th September 2008, the proceedings of third day at the Itikaf City got underway with the Fajr prayers. Instructing the participants of Itikaf, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that they should try to recite the Holy Qur’an as much as they could.
