People Need Relief, Not Mere Assurances, Says Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
Poor governance is a major cause of rising inflation: PAT Secretary General
Increase in petroleum prices has stalled industrial and agricultural growth

Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, while speaking to party workers about the upcoming budget, said that the people need tangible relief, not mere assurances.
He stated that poor governance is one of the primary reasons behind rising inflation. He further remarked that continuous increases in petroleum prices have brought the momentum of industrial and agricultural development to a halt.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that countries cannot be run on loans alone, adding that the hard-earned income of the people is being consumed by interest payments on mounting debts. He questioned what benefits the country had gained from the four-decade-long rule of the so-called experienced political leadership.
He observed that the purpose of paying taxes is to ensure public convenience and access to essential services, yet the poor remain deprived of quality education and healthcare facilities.
He further stated that one of the main reasons behind the government's arbitrary decision-making is the public's willingness to accept every decision without resistance. He added that neither the opposition nor the media is playing the role that should be expected of them in safeguarding the public interest.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur concluded by saying that the lives of ordinary citizens have become increasingly difficult, and despite being a wheat-producing country, the common man is struggling to afford even basic bread at a reasonable price.
