LHC Bar Elections: Awami Lawyers Forum announces support for Malik Asif Niswana and Farrukh Ilyas Cheema

The Awami Lawyers Forum has announced its support for candidates in the Lahore High Court Bar Association elections. In a meeting presided over by Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the Forum declared its backing for Malik Asif Niswana as President and Farrukh Ilyas Cheema as Secretary.

The event was attended by a large number of senior lawyers and office bearers, including Awami Lawyers Forum’s central president and candidate for Punjab Bar Council, Naeemuddin Chaudhry Advocate. Other prominent participants included Senior Advocate Supreme Court Azhar Siddique, Asif Salharia Advocate, Sardar Ghazanfar Hussain Advocate, M. Saim Chaudhry Advocate, Mian Naeem Chaudhry Advocate, Mian Zahid Islam, Raja Zahid Mehmood, Yaseen Bhatti Advocate, Ahsan Gilani Advocate, Rai Iqbal Kharl Advocate, Saud Ahmed Khan Advocate, and Qazi Zeeshan Advocate, among others.

During the meeting, it was decided that the Awami Lawyers Forum will actively campaign for both candidates. Expressing his strong support for them, Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that the forum has always been committed to the rights of lawyers, and the success of these candidates will serve the interests of both the bar and the bench.

He further emphasized that the leadership of the Awami Lawyers Forum is dedicated not only to resolving lawyers' issues but also to ensuring judicial independence and the provision of justice.

Addressing the gathering, President of Awami Lawyers Forum and candidate for Punjab Bar Council, Naeemuddin Chaudhry Advocate, highlighted that the forum has an active and well-organized network across all districts and tehsils of Punjab. He assured that forum members will play a crucial role in securing the victory of the endorsed candidates.

He expressed confidence that upon winning the elections, both lawyer leaders will work diligently for the supremacy of the Constitution and law, as well as for the welfare of the legal fraternity.

On this occasion, presidential candidate Malik Asif Niswana and secretary candidate Farrukh Ilyas Cheema expressed their gratitude to Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and the leadership of the Awami Lawyers Forum for their support.
