Prayer for 2025 to be a year of peace, stability, and prosperity: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, on the occasion of the New Year, has expressed his hope and prayer that the year 2025 would bring peace, stability, and prosperity. He emphasized that the 250 million people of Pakistan need stability, and the major causes of instability are our vengeful attitudes and intolerance.
The PAT Secretary General stated that millions of children are deprived of education, fostering an illiterate generation under our care. He said that thousands of mothers lose their lives during childbirth due to a lack of timely medical facilities. People struggle for justice for generations, with no one to address their grievances. He further said that contaminated water causes millions of deaths each year, while thousands of highly educated young people join the ranks of the unemployed annually, yet these critical issues remain ignored.
"Our enemy is not outside the borders but within," he remarked. "How can peace, prosperity, and harmony prevail in a home where brothers fight each other, ingratitude reigns, conspiracies thrive, and accusations are rampant?"
He urged that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasize forgiveness, continuous improvement, repentance, compassion, and mercy, yet we have forgotten these values.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur criticized the current government, stating, "We have become a laughing stock globally. Our status is that of a begging nation; when the IMF gives us loans, we breathe, and without them, we suffocate. Despite being endowed with abundant mineral and natural resources, we remain destitute due to our vengeful and ignorant attitudes."
The PAT Secretary General called for a show of strength, courage, and dignity, and urged leaders to free the nation from the shackles of debt, inspire self-reliance, and break away from dependence on foreign aid.
He said, "The nation is ready to make all kinds of sacrifices to live with national pride and dignity. The ruling class should also adopt this mindset and show mercy to Pakistan."
Gandapur further emphasized that Pakistan is a safe haven and shelter for millions, urging that no further harm be done to the country.
