IMF loan not for economic stability but for political show: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), has stated that the IMF loan is not supporting the country's economy but is rather a political show for the coalition government.
If the loan is granted, the elite will receive free electricity, gas, petrol, and airplane tickets worth 750 billion rupees. The Prime Minister should thank the impoverished people, who are selling even their body organs to pay off the IMF loan along with its interest, instead of thanking the IMF, he stated.
The PAT Secretary General said when the IMF loan is received, the treasury members in the National Assembly receive millions of rupees under the guise of development budgets. A "Lucky Irani Circus" is staged in the name of negotiations with the IMF, even though the IMF has no other option but to grant the loan.
He said the IMF must provide the loan because this is how they control countries like Pakistan. If the government refuses, the IMF will still provide the loan, even if it means pleading, because the loan is not about economic stability but about instability.
