Eid-ul-Adha a day of practical demonstration of Islamic brotherhood: MQI Secretary General
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has stated that Eid-ul-Adha is a grand day for the practical demonstration of Islam’s teachings of brotherly fraternity and camaraderie. He emphasized that on this day, it is incumbent upon the wealthy to assist the needy, deliver sacrificial meat to them, and seek their prayers.
Meanwhile, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur visited slaughterhouses and distribution centers as part of the collective sacrifice campaign organized by Minhaj Welfare Foundation and reviewed the arrangements.
Deputy Nazim-e-Ala Jawad Hamid briefed him on the occasion, stating that collective sacrifices would be conducted at 300 locations, including in Lahore, and the meat would be distributed to millions of deserving people.
Brigadier (Retd.) Umar Hayat, the Country Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, informed that the Foundation is conducting collective sacrifices not only in Pakistan but also in Bangladesh, Africa, Kenya, Palestine, and other countries. He further mentioned that to preserve the meat in the intense heat, thermocol boxes and dry ice would be used to ensure that the meat is delivered to the participants and the needy following hygiene principles.
