MQI, leaders visit the graves of martyrs of Model Town tragedy
On the 10th anniversary of the Model Town tragedy, an MQI and PAT delegation, led by Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and including central, provincial, and district leaders and workers, visited the graves of the Model Town martyrs in Lahore.
Following the instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, they laid wreaths, offered prayers, and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks. The delegations also visited the homes of the martyrs to express solidarity, paying tribute to their sacrifices, and assured their families that the entire movement stands with them.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur along with Raja Zahid Mahmood, Tayyab Zia, Dr. Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Amjad Hussain, Rana Waheed Shehzad, Shahbaz Hussain Bhatti, Saqib Mahmood Bhatti, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Haji Amjad Ali, Shahbaz Bhatti, Amjad Chaudhry, Asghar Sajid, and other leaders, visited the graves of Tanzila Amjad Shaheed, Shazia Murtaza Shaheed, Umar Siddique Shaheed, Sufi Muhammad Iqbal Shaheed, Asim Hussain Shaheed, and Ghulam Rasool Shaheed. They laid wreaths, offered prayers, and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks.
On the 10th anniversary of the Model Town martyrs, prayer ceremonies were organized by organizations and workers across the country, including in Lahore.
Speaking to the families of the martyrs, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that they regard the sacrifices of the martyrs with pride. He affirmed that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain and that the martyrs of Model Town laid down their lives raising their voices against an oppressive system. They will continue to struggle for justice until their last breath.
