MSM to arrange National Students Convention on January 29
Students’ parliament meeting of Mustafavi Students Movement (MSM) was held at the central secretariat, which was attended by the central, and provincial office-holders including those of the educational institutions, universities and colleges. The meeting decided to hold an All-Pakistan Students Convention on the 29th of January in Lahore in which thousands of students from different parts of the country would take part. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver his keynote address at the Convention.
The meeting also prepared a detailed working plan after thorough deliberations in connection with 25,000 centers of knowledge in line with the vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam and the responsibilities were assigned to the office-holders.
Addressing the meeting, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that MSM is a scholarly, ideological and peaceful movement that is working to protect the rights of the students. He said that MSM has an unenviable contribution in the character-building of the students, and promoting love and peace in society.
Addressing the meeting, central MSM President Chaudhry Irfan Yousaf said that MSM has focused its attention and energy on changing the culture and environment of the educational institutions, which has changed the direction, thinking pattern and ideals of the youth. He said that peace-loving students with a positive mindset are our partners. He said that our objective has been to build the character of the youth and raise voice for their rights so that they get the best educational environment. He said that MSM is the only student organization that waged a campaign for an increase in the educational budget in all the four provinces, reminding the authorities that without such an increase, learning outcomes would not come better. He said that we would announce the future strategy in the National Students Convention on January 29.
General Secretary MSM Sheikh Farhan Aziz welcomed the guests and office-holders of MSM and thanked them for their service. Raja Zahid Mahmood, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, Saeed Alam, Zia-ur-Rahman and other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
