Corrupt politicians biggest hurdle in the way of achieving national objectives: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the corrupt office-holders of the political parties are the biggest hurdle in the way of achieving the national objectives for which Pakistan was established. He termed the sale and purchase of votes and the switching of loyalty as the biggest political evil. He said that the sale of conscience is taking place before all the constitutional institutions but they remain unmoved. He said that all institutions are not only witnessing the spectacle of the fraud being committed in the name of democratic system but also making a joke of the country in the comity of nations.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the current system is the protector of mafias, and incompetent and dishonest people. He said that it was on the 23rd of March 1940 that the demand for an Islamic welfare state was made in line with the golden principles of Islam. He however added in the same breath that a combination of corruption and incompetence has sabotaged the national agenda. So much so that the process of violation of national interest has not ceased despite the passage of 74 years. He made it pretty clear that without changing the system of elections nothing positive will happen. He said that all political parties are trying to outcompete each other in bringing infamy to the country.
PAT Secretary General expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Pakistan Day here at the central secretariat of the party. The ceremony was attended by the district, provincial, and central office bearers of PAT.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the biggest question relates to the progress and solidarity of Pakistan. He said that the way the guardians of the corrupt system trade off the national interest is very much shameful. He said these so-called national political leaders will not let the country progress and become stable. He said that on the 23rd of March, we will have to make a fresh pledge that we will work with full commitment, sincerity of purpose and complete devotion to make Pakistan a peaceful, prosperous, Islamic welfare state.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the importance of the Day can be assessed from the fact that the 23rd of March changed the destiny of Muslims of the subcontinent, as it gave them an ideal to pursue. Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Noorullah Siddiqui, Mian Rehan Maqbool, Arif Chaudhry, Dr Sultan Mahmood Ch and others were present on the occasion.
