New Convening Body of Awami Lawyers Movement notified

A convening body of Pakistan Awami Lawyers Movement has been constituted after approval of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, which has been mandated with the task of reorganizing the district chapters in 60 days. Lehrasib Khan Gondal, senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and Imtiaz Chaudhry Advocate have been nominated as the convener and senior deputy convener of the convening body. PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur issued a formal notification in this regard. MH Sheen Advocate, Asif Sulehria Advocate have been made deputy and assistant conveners.

PAT Central President Qazi Zahid Hussain, Bashrat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warriach, Brig. (r) Muhammad Mushtaq, and Noorullah Saddiqi congratulated the convening body office holders on their new responsibilities. They said that lawyers in any political party have the role of a think-tank. They said that Pakistan faces a crisis in its institutional discipline and it is the lawyers who can steer the country out of it.

Central President Qazi Zahid Hussain said that the convening body will complete the reorganization process at the district level throughout the country and make the role of Awami Lawyers Movement effective for supremacy of constitution and dispensation of justice to the oppressed.
