MWM expresses support for Model Town martyrs
A high-level delegation of Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen led by Deputy Secretary General Allama Nasir Abbas Sherazi visited the central PAT Secretariat and called on Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur. The leaders of both parties discussed the political situation, upcoming general elections and the matters related to justice in the Model Town case.
Speaking on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stressed the need of reforms before the elections are held. He said that patriotic and competent representatives will have to be elected in order to form a respectable parliament. He said that Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar destroyed the national economy. He said that the suspect marriages of the thousands of bureaucrats with the dual nationality holders are a threat for national security. He asked the agencies to trace which bureaucrat married where and why. He said that the Supreme Court should also take a strict view of the situation.
Allama Nasir Abbas Sherazi, while speaking on the occasion, said that Pakistan’s biggest problem is corrupt politicians, and nexus between corruption and terrorism. He said that struggle to get rid of the corrupt political elite will have to be stepped up. He said that both PAT and MWM have faced the state terrorism. He assured his party’s unstinted support on the demand of justice in the Model Town case. He said that it is our prayer to the honorable judiciary that the bereaved families of the martyrs should be provided justice.
Noorullah Siddiqi, Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi, Hassan Kazmi, Rana Majid Ali, and Rajza Zahid Mahmood were also present on the occasion. Both parties also expressed their grave concern on the statements Nawaz Sharif and his daughter have been making against the national institutions. They also agreed that no concession should be given to those who have launched a drive to defame the national institutions.
